TENSION
Yarn used knits as 4ply to this tension: 28 sts and 36 rows to measure 10×10cm (4×4in) over st st using 3¼mm needles

ABBREVIATIONS
ML make loop – follow the steps below:
Step 1 Knit into the next stitch, but do not allow the original stitch to fall off the LH needle. Bring the yarn between the tips of the needles, to the front.
Step 2 Stretch out your left thumb so that it is in front of the knitting, and wrap the yarn around and under it.
Step 3 Take the yarn between the tips of the needles, to the back (keep it around your thumb to make a loop).
Step 4 Knit into the same stitch again on the LH needle, and drop the original stitch off the LH needle. Remove your thumb from the loop.
