ONE of the questions that I get asked most often is, “How much ammo is enough for defensive carry?” There is no easy answer as it probably depends on your circumstances.
For example, if you work in an office with several other people and you have to wear a suit, you would probably want to carry a lightweight package that can easily be concealed. A snub-nose revolver (5 rounds) or a slim, singles-tack pistol, or a micro-compact would probably make a lot of sense. On the other hand, if you are a farmer your needs would probably lean towards a high-capacity 9mmP in full size (e.g. Glock 17) or a compact like a Glock 19. An extra magazine on your belt would also present no problem given your clothing and would be necessitated by the fact that you spend a lot of time far from the nearest help.
I have often stated that I think
