ARTS FUNDING IN SCHOOLS MUST BE PROTECTED AND VALUED, OR WE ALL LOSE

There is a funding crisis in our education system, particularly in England. Schools are not given enough money for the resources (including staff ) to do justice to the educational needs of our children. And the arts are the first casualty.

Prioritising STEM subjects [Science, Technology, English and Maths] means lowering the status of other subjects in the eyes of everyone, from parents to school governors to the all-powerful media.
