Pantera — An Italian-American Cat

What if I told you that you could buy a brand-new, genuine European mid-engine supercar — with a powerful American-made V-8 engine, five-speed manual transmission and breathtaking looks — for around $10,000? You’d jump for it, right?

Don’t be so certain. That offer was made to me, and flat I turned it down. The reason? It was 1972 and the car was the De Tomaso Pantera, and as great of a deal as it was, I was just not ready for it. Pity.
