RED BULL PUSHES TO THE LIMITS IN AUSTRIAN FARCE

The final classification for last Sunday’s Austrian Grand Prix wasn’t declared until over five hours after the end of the race after an unprecedented breach of track limits.

Although a number of penalties were awarded during the event, race control was tasked with reviewing over 1200 instances where a car was reported to have left the track.

It was a farcical state of affairs throughout the weekend that impacted Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Sergio Perez (Red Bull) during qualifying and resulted in nearly half the field being penalised in the race.
