SEEDS

MILLET is an excellent form of carbohydrate because it is highly digestible and low in fat; unlike many grains, it does not acidify in the stomach. It contains Vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, folic acid, Vitamin K and valuable minerals. The following types are used for cage birds:

■ Panicum millet
■ Pearl millet
■ White millet, also called proso
■ Foxtail millet
