ONE-POT OATY CARAMEL SLICE

Makes 12

The beauty of this slice is that it can be prepared in one pot and you can have it in the oven in a matter of minutes, making this fabulous to whip up for smoko, for when friends pop in, or for a plate at a community function.

150 grams butter1 cup brown sugar1 cup flour1½ teaspoon baking powder1½ cups rolled oats½ teaspoon salt1 teaspoon vanilla essence395-gram can caramel (or see tips and tricks)

Preheat the oven to 180°C fan bake. Prepare a 27cm x 17cm tin.

Melt the butter and brown sugar in a medium-sized pot on a low heat.
