As a nation of pet lovers, we Brits like nothing more thanmake anything from £150 up to several thousand pounds, depending on quality, rarity and collectability of the artist. One very affordable name to look out for is Herbert Thomas Dicksee (1862–1942), who captured animals so beautifully in his etchings and mezzotints, as exemplified by (bottom right), which sold for £390 recently at Sworders (Dicksee's prints rarely go above £500 in the current market).
