After the off-season at the start of the year, then came the month of June when the most important durian season of this year officially kicked off. Despite the continuous rain, fruit setting rate of Musang King was challenging. Yield of other varieties were quite satisfactory compared to year 2021. However the fruit quality was not ideal with increase in grade B and C fruits, especially deformed fruits, giving farmers a real hard time.
In the past, most durians were frozen for export, but now this has been halted due to the shortage of super cooling agent nitrogen gas, resulting in most durians being sold locally.
