Lynx Optics has been a mainstay in the domestic hunting and shooting market for as long as I can remember. Japanese-made optics, well-suited to their intended purpose, rugged and reliable. The brand is backed by one of the best warranties on the off-chance something goes wrong.
Recently it expanded its hunting line-up with some competition-specific offerings, yet there was nothing catering to the specific needs of those active in the Long Range (LR), Extreme Long Range (ELR) and more dynamic Precision Rifle Series (PRS) disciplines.
With the growing popularity of these shooting sports, as well as the spike in demand for First Focal Plane (FFP) optics with both the reticle and turrets functioning in milliradian (MRAD) measurements, Lynx designed an optic to supplement its product offering and cater for these shooters. I briefly saw an early ‘working prototype’ at a PRS open day at Hippo Creek Shooting Centre in February 2022. My initial impressions were positive and that it warranted a more detailed look.
Soon I was sent one of these exciting new optics to rest and evaluate. The instructions were clear: No strings attached, just run it hard for as long as I liked and provide feedback. It was important for me to put the riflescope through its
