If you’re a Time Attack enthusiast here in New Zealand, then the Prowear NZ Superlap Series 2022–’23 Series Finale was the place to be—wrapping up a season that saw us hit four different tracks, finishing up at Hampton Downs. Haltech, Autoignite, Raceworks, Prowear, and LSM Ltd came on board with the biggest prize pool in Superlap history—while many of the drivers had done serious upgrades after Manfeild to bring it for the final.
The Unlimited class (introduced recently for drivers wanting to run a full slick tyre) had been decided prior to this round, with Leon Scott’s LSM Evo doing enough in the three previous rounds to comfortably secure the season win. Leon’s car and crew are always immaculately presented and willing to assist others in any way they can, and this was recognised with an additional award as the Superlap Ambassador of the season.
Last year’s series winner, Aaron Wharerau, put a cat among the pigeons by making a single appearance for the season and taking out the round win.
