It isn’t common for a raw, pure, and dominating talent to come along in the motorsport world with the ability to leave its mark like very few have ever done before. Utter dominance is a hard thing to crack in top-tier motorsport; in rallying, however, the winds of change are blowing, and 22-year-old Kalle Rovanperä is at the forefront of the storm.
For those who don’t recognise the name, it isn’t exactly new. Kalle’s father, Harri Rovanperä, is an OG in the world of rallying. Rovanperä senior has driven for teams such as Seat, Peugeot, Mitsubishi, and Skoda in the World Rally Championship (WRC), making the Finnish name a household one among rally fans. Kalle first took to the wheel at eight years old, when a video of him power sliding a Toyota Starlet through the frozen Finnish countryside took the internet by storm.
