Work with the light

Switch your camera to Partial metering, point the lens at a bright area and use the Auto Exposurethe same technique to create a silhouette of someone back-lit by the sun. To add an evocative ‘sun-drenched’ look to summer images, capture hazy lens flare in your pictures. Position the sun just outside of the shot so that it casts light across the front element of the lens. Use some positive exposure compensation to ensure the image remains bright, or is even overexposed, to enhance the look. If you want to avoid flare, however, fit a lens hood or carefully shield the front of the lens with your hand.
