WAVERLEY The 1947-built paddle steamer’s 2023 dry dock appeal reached its £180,000 target thanks to donations by more than 2,000 people. The work on the vessel was undertaken at the James Watt Dock in Greenock before she returned upriver after Easter, with her crew coming on board to prepare for Clyde sailings between 19 and 23 May. This was followed by a move to Oban for trips running until 29 May. RP

LIVE FISH CARRIER Turkey’s Sefine Shipyard has delivered the 109.2m by 22.2m live fish carrier Bakkafossur to salmon producer Bakkafrost, based in the Faroe Islands. Designed by Denmark’s Knud H. Hansen, the new 13.5-knot ship has a total cargo capacity of 7,000m3 in four cargo holds, which allows the vessel to transport about 1,000 tons of live salmon per trip. JS
