EVENT REPORT - MOAB CARAVAN

You may well have heard tales of Lin Ottinger’s Scenic Tours of the Canyonlands of Moab in the 1960s through the 1980s, but few actually had the experience for themselves. However, thanks to organisers, KCW and Lin’s son, Sonny, you can not only get the feeling of those original tours, but enjoy a similar adventure yourself, in your own VW.

If you are unfamiliar with the story, we’ll give you a quick re-cap. Lin Ottinger began giving tours though the Utah Canyonlands in 1960. It was the first tour company of its kind. He used a fleet of VW Buses to ferry tourists through the mostly uncharted lands under the name Southeastern Utah Taxi Service, though ultimately the business was re-named
