- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Tenting Tonight by Mary Roberts RinehartWasn't sure if this was a cookbook or about camping. It's about sport and adventure in Glacier Park and the Cascade Mountains.Illustrations are indexed at the front of the book along with table of contents. The group of 30+ start out with pack animals carrying food and clothing and essentials as they trek over the mountains through Glacier National Park over the top of Cascade Mountains Pass in WA.We have been to part of the Cascades but the parts they talk about were once a few walked a trail we now only 6" wide trails. Some very crucial and tragic parts to this trek.Enjoyed every step they took as the wife who was along kept excellent notes, and especially those of the flowers along the way. So precious a memory. So many funny moments also and the cook, who kept running away. Felt sorry for their horses at times, walking on icy paths under the waterfall and having nothing to eat for days.Celebrating birthdays was a treat to only find out it was the WRONG day LOLReally great book to read.
