SHORT-TAILED ALBATROSS

After being overhunted for feathers, most of the world’s remaining short-tails nested on an island with an active volcano. Yamashina Institute for Ornithology scientists successfully lured juveniles across Torishima Island, then reestablished a colony on nearby Mukojima.
