ADD PRESENCE TO A SIMPLE BASS
Sine wave basses are great for subby low-end reinforcement but sometimes they lack a little weight, creating a frequency gap between the bass and the lower mid-range.sine-wave bass as there's no upper frequency content present in the sound. Instead, send the bass to a distortion effect via an auxiliary and configure settings to hit the bass and ‘disperse’ this to overdriven higher frequencies. Why do this on an auxiliary rather than ‘in-channel’, via an Insert? If you use an auxiliary, it's much easier to balance the dry original sound with the distorted treatment and, using automation, a doddle to vary that relationship from one section of your track to another.
