SOMEONE TOLD ME RECENTLY that an affinity for roses is like birdwatching – it shows your age. Is the implication that no-one under 50 is typically interested in roses, or birds? Not true! I’m not yet 50 and I’ve had a lifelong love of roses, plus I know some very youthful birders.
