HERE’S AN ANECDOTE that might have come directly from the Bobby Heenan School of Outdated References (which, in itself, is an outdated reference). In an episode of I Love Lucy, Lucy Ricardo and her landlady/BFF Ethel Mertz are in the kitchen complaining about their husbands’ obsessions with watching television.
