• We found family-friendly, affordable Airbnbs outside city centres. Our best accommodation was in Serris, just outside Paris. It's close to Disneyland Paris, and you can take a short train ride into the city. • Temper • Children can be great travellers, but some may find the constant change disconcerting. Share travel plans with them so that transitions are easier. • Book tickets for Kew Christmas Lights, West End and Disneyland shows well in advance. Spend two days at Disneyland, if you can. • There will be miserable weather days in December. Make sure you have some indoor options for activities and, sometimes, carry on in the rain. You won't melt. • Download the apps. There is a great Disney app that says what's on and when; the Sea Life Paris app was excellent, and the Citymapper app was a lifesaver in London.
