Jacket potatoes have had their chips. Evidently 15% of children today have never tried a baked spud with beans and cheese. Many of them are also strangers to toad-in-the-hole and spaghetti hoops on toast. Even tinned cream of tomato soup is a mystery to 27% of under-10s. Blimey. Without that lot I’d have probably starved as a kid.
But according to a survey of 2,000 parents by British Lion Eggs the new family teatime favourites are roast chicken and pasta dishes like spag bol. Tacos and burritos are also on the list, and avocados get an honourable mention too.
