in mid-2021, 34-year-old Josie Magnay woke from sleep with excruciating abdominal pain. Blood tests revealed that her blood had changed colour from red to milky white, and she was choppered straight to RPA Hospital's ICU where she spent three months fighting for her life, the majority of which was in an induced coma in critical condition.

Being this sick was a shock to Josie as she'd always been healthy and grew up ‘active’ with three sisters, three brothers and hard-working parents. From an early age, she played music with her family in many bands and orchestras, forming life-long friends and mentoring younger players.
