I have been researching my family history for more than 25 years now and it has been, and continues to be, a fascinating pursuit. I have discovered many interesting (& some unpleasant) stories about my family along the way and have met or corresponded with many family members, some of whom I didn’t even know existed, and they have been very helpful in my research. However, the one large, and almost insurmountable ‘brick wall’ has been my maternal great-grandmother’s father. This is her story.
