Portuguese presidential visit a diplomatic victory for Pandor

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of Portugal, was this week in South Africa on a state visit and to meet with the associations of the several hundred thousand-strong Portuguese community.

The highlight of the State visit was the signing on Wednesday, without forewarning in the media, of a new Portuguese-South African Defence Agreement. The agreement is focused on consultations, training, technical exchanges and maritime co-operation.
