Claire McCall

FROM THE AGE OF THREE, Australian artist Claire McCall played the violin, so any spare time – when she might have discovered art and painting – was spent on practice, violin lessons and orchestra rehearsals. After completing a Business Degree in Marketing, she then spent her twenties working as a Brand Manager in the cosmetic industry.

It was only when she was in her early thirties, had recently moved house and was expecting her first child that an invitation arrived by mail for the previous owner about an art exhibition, showcasing the work of an artist by the name of Helen Edwards. Some of Helen’s works are in pastel and depict children at the beach running across the canvas. It was that chance invitation and subsequent visit to the exhibition that moved her from an art admirer to a painter.
