Like many people, Adam Simpson-York got bored during the first Covid-19 lockdown in March 2020. He came up with an unusual project. “I just bought a random medal off of eBay (ebay.co.uk) and tried to look into its history,” Adam, 37, from Ipswich, says.

The medal turned out to belong to Sergeant Harry Roland Bingham (born Harry Roland Myers), who served), and returned the medal to him.
