AUSTRALIAN SPEED is a high-speed motorsport event held on the hardened salt surface of the (usually) dry Lake Gairdner in outback South Australia. Speeds of the fastest, most powerful cars – including recognisable classics such as Falcons, Kingswoods and Commodores - are in excess of 200mph.
