Of all the new faces to raise rock’s profile in recent years, none get as many mentions as Greta Van Fleet. Six years on from their first single, opinions still proliferate on social media, over pints at gigs and among friends across the country. We’ve never really stopped hearing fans, other bands, readers and industry folk variously sing their praises, slate them as rip-offs, delight in the bigger spotlight they’ve put on rock and bemoan the sharp rise they’ve enjoyed – one that’s so at odds with what most of their peers experience these days.
