Northumbrian Notes

AT THE recent AGM of Morpeth & District CBS, I finally gave up the position of club secretary. I think I did a fair stint, given that I got my first post as assistant secretary at the age of 19. Since then, save for the three-year break when Tony Thompson and I gave up the Glosters, I've had the position of assistant secretary, show secretary, secretary (on three separate occasions) and treasurer (which was my longest stint). Finally, at the age of 71,1 no longer have a formal title, although I've not abandoned them entirely and will still be acting as a sort of quasi show secretary, so you could argue that my work continues.

Still, it was nice given that period of working for the club to be recognised with a life membership. I can say
