Whenever I speak to readers, the number one topic is always airgun hunting. It seems every shooter I meet wants to get into the field and be involved, but with the freedom to hunt comes responsibility.
The first thing to remember is that ALL birds are protected by the law – unless they appear on one of the general licences issued by the Government. To be clear, if you shoot any bird that does not appear on that list you are breaking the law and could well receive punishment if caught.
Each year, they will look at the situations where birds are causing problems and agree on the appropriate actions. For us, that means being legally able to own an airgun and having the written permission of the landowner to be where the birds are. We are also held responsible to kill our quarry quickly and cleanly.
