EARLY in April we ran the Maidstone sale. It's something I enjoy organising, but as I get older it stresses me out more and more. But we did it and it's always good to work with the co-operation of Cage & Aviary Birds.

My fears are always working around the DEFRA regulations properly and not having enough tables for all those people who book private sales tables. There were more tables this year and once you have found your way around the ministry guidelines, that's not so much of a challenge – but it does have to be carried out properly. There was plenty of help on the day
