Castles to continue in passenger service beyond this December

GREAT Western Railway will continue using its short-formed 2+4 Castle High Speed Trains beyond the December timetable.

The operator confirmed the decision in late-April. GWR had always planned to retain a handful of the sets for strategic purposes beyond the start of the December 2023 timetable.
