Casual collector car enthusiasts have likely heard a tale or two about rare finds, sometimes conveyed in near-whispered reverence. Like how nobody knew dear old Uncle Bob’s third cousin squirreled away the 1965 Jaguar E-Type Peter O’Toole drove in How to Steal a Million until the estate sale was aranged. Or that a pristine 1953 Buick Skylark was lingering in the neighbor’s garage down the street until the little old lady passed away. A little digging often reveals the hard truth—the Jaguar turned out to be a 1980 MGB most everyone in the family knew about, and that Skylark was really a daily-driven 1950 Chevy Styleline sedan. Regardless, veteran car enthusiasts listen intently, knowing full well some extraordinary word-of-mouth tales are based not on fantasy, but reality.

One such enthusiast is Ed Montini. A resident of Gilbert, Arizona, he’s best known by our Hemmings Muscle Machines readers for the collection of genuine first-genYenko Camaros residing in his garage. What few may know is that Ed has a deep appreciation for other legendary makes, such as the 1966 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 sharing space with the Chevrolets. Ed purchased it new while living in Italy, and although a couple other prancing horses have come and gone, the ’66 remains a cornerstone of his collection to this day.
