Capture, edit and share screenshots using advanced tools

What you need: ShareX

Time required: 30 minutes

Windows’ Snipping Tool is a decent if limited screenshot-capturing program. In Issue 656 (page 51) we recommended using the third-party program ShareX instead. It has been recently updated (see changes at www.snipca.com/45740), and contains many advanced features that Microsoft is unlikely to ever bring to Snipping Tool.

These include extensive editing options that let you trim and blur images before sharing them. It also lets you upload your screenshots online and even translate and is available as an installable program or portable tool you can run from a USB stick. Here, we explain how to use it.
