were delighted to welcome Don Davies to their recent meeting for a talk entitled ‘Don Davies Entertains’. He began by displaying materials covering pre-1840 Penny Post and explained how postal charges were calculated and the markings used to show the charges made. With the introduction of the Penny Post covering the whole of the country there was a short period in 1840 before stamps were issued and Don displayed various envelopes with different markings
