Thule Paramount

● As we’ve come to expect from top Swedes Thule (pronounced ‘too-lee’), the 27L Paramount commuter backpack is practical, durable and18L (£105) version, but this lacks the rain cover and one of the sizeable internal compartments. The comfortable straps and a breathable, supportive mesh back area make it adequate for riding on short/mid-range commutes, but the 1.43kg weight might rule it out of longer adventures. The Olive colourway is attractive but is showing up the odd stain after six months of use, so you might want to consider the black edition. This rugged, well-crafted contender justifies the lofty price.
