Scotland in 2019 as a refugee from Yemen. My initial feelings as I walked around Glasgow for the first time were happiness at a new life ahead of me, as well as apprehension at not knowing anybody here. I had to wait for three years for my asylum application to be processed by the Home Office. It was very stressful. I did not have the right to work. I couldn’t study easily and yet I wanted to learn and be successful.
