After years of his family making headlines for all the wrong reasons, King Charles III will want to steer a steady ship, says royal biographer Tom Bower.

While his books about Charles painted a shocking picture of a spoilt and petulant prince, the monarch has since tried to shift the public’s perception.

“I do. “Before my book came out [in 2018], he was very quick about firing people. But he realised he had to keep people on side. Charles, now, is very much more careful. But it’s very hard to follow the Queen’s act. And unlike the Queen, he comes with a huge track record of controversy and animosity. So, he’s got a tough job.”
