Sale a great success
On Saturday 11 February, the late John Crowden’s Field-Marshall collection was disposed of at the premises of David Bowman Pumpkins near Spalding, Lincolnshire, with a sealed bidding process the preferred method of selling the stock. It was all very short notice – advertised on the Field-Marshall Appreciation Society’s Facebook page only days before.
An excellent crowd attended the open day, and the sale went well. It included a restored, red Marshall 12-20, fitted with a cartridge start by Robert H Crawford & Son, and a model M. They sold for more than £20,000 each, the organiser of the sale told Tractor & Machinery.
After the sale there were two unsold lots of interest to us – a petrol/TVOpowered Fordson E27N and a Perkins P6-powered version. Both run and appear to be in good order.
