Tim grew up on rural properties in and around the Maryborough district, in Queensland. There were always horses around, and from his early years, he remembers his Dad throwing him up on the front of the saddle and off they’d go mustering.
‘It was a great time in life. But when I was in my early teens, we ended up moving from the farm and into town, and I stopped riding horses. In 2002, some 20 years later, I found myself working the beat at the Moggill Show. I happened to be walking past some horse stalls there, and at that point, I had an overwhelming need to again connect with horses, and it didn’t go away.’
Initially, Tim bought a young Quarter Horse mare, at first just doing a bit of trail riding on her. As his journey back into the world of horses gained momentum, Tim realised that the mare needed a bit more training. After a few conversations with others, it was recommended that he call a trainer
