Troubleshooting Drilled Mortises

In my shop, the drill press is one of my top three shop machines. I value it for the wide range of tasks it’s capable of performing. One important operation is helping to create mortises for mortise and tenon joinery — the drill press is used to remove most of the waste. A little cleanup work with a chisel or two completes the mortise.
