‘CULTURE OF SILENCE’
Beyond any doubt, gender-based violence (GBV), among other issues, remains a crucial crisis in South Africa. The severity of this matter has been acknowledged by the government and other related stakeholders and various measures have been taken to support survivors and combat this scourge.
However, these have not proven to assist the most affected groups as incidents of GBV and sexual assault continue to rise.
Leaders of all religions and communities are perceived to be playing a pivotal role in identifying key health and social issues in their broader communities, and often lead positive, faith-based responses to such
