DYNO TEST PART 2 KTM 450 SX-F vs 300 SX
Dyno results are not always everything and just because one bike has excess power over another does not always mean it is the fastest bike on the track.
Last month we figured out that the 2023 KTM 300 SX has much more peak power than a 250cc four-stroke so it has no business racing in the MX2 class. The power is more comparable to a bike in the 450cc class, just with a narrower power curve. Being that the 300 SX is new for 2023 we have very little experience with it as we haven’t seen one through a full twelve months of racing yet.
The rules stipulate that the 300 SX cannot race in the MX2 class but the MX1 class allows a two-stroke up to 500cc. Being that they are only new and not popular enough to have their own class, our dyno results absolutely suggest the 300 SX is capable of racing against a 450 but let’s track-test the two back-to-back and see what we come up with.
