ND JUST LIKE THAT we are into the last month of autumn, the days are drawing in and there is a stack of jobs to finish before winter arrives. One of them is bedding down the garden plots under a thick layer of sheep manure. I’ve been busy carting wheelbarrow-loads over from the shearing shed. I have the easy job.
