From time immemorial it was the custom that after a man and woman had decided to spend their lives together, they would plan a family.

Generally, before the second wedding anniversary, the first child would be welcomed into the world. Within the next two or three years, another child would be born. More babies could follow, depending on social and economic factors.

Parenting is a basic instinct. Parents want to have an offspring as the end product of their union. They want their blood and genes to blend, and be manifest in a child to prove their reproductive success.
