With new statistics revealing the extent of critical vacancies within conservation entity, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife (EKZNW), the DA is calling for a larger budget allocation for the 2023/24 financial year.
The field ranger vacancy rate now stands at 36.8%. This equates to 354 posts not being filled at a time when rhino poaching was rife in the province.
