What You Need To Know

1 Paoletti? That’s a new one.

Not as such. Fabrizio Paoletti founded his company in 2005, with its original premise centred on using chestnut wood reclaimed from wine barrels more than a century old to make the guitars’ bodies.

2 Interesting, what else?

Paoletti’s Signature Series features instruments such as the Richard Fortus #1 and #2 signatures that have tops covered with leather. Our offset comes from the bashed-up looking Loft Series, but there are also semi and hollowbody models in the Lounge Series, while the Wine Series centres on natural finishes over that reclaimed chestnut.

3 Do we need another small-output £3k-plus boutique-guitar maker?

Paoletti has quietly become fairly sizeable with an output of approximately 500 guitars annually. It also has proper distribution, which means many UK dealers have stock so you can play before you buy or place a custom order.

It’s not the first time has featured a bashed-up looking offset based on Fender’s late-50s classic – and we doubt it’ll be the last.
