A round of applause, please, for the worthy winners of Stylist’s Best Beauty Awards 2023

The beauty industry is booming. In fact, it’s boomed so hard over the past decade it’s bursting at the seams to make way for new innovations, brands and products (and a lot of celebrity endorsements). Every day my inbox pings with delight that certain peptides have been found to strengthen hair, an acid has been developed to resurface skin and an innovative ingredient has been discovered to lengthen lashes. In short, the ways to make ourselves look, and most importantly feel, good are endless, but what I love most about this industry is that there really is something for everyone. Which is why we thought it was time to bring’s beauty editor, worked with a team of industry experts to help narrow down a (very) long list of products. On skincare we had Dija Ayodele, an aesthetician and author of , who regularly navigates a whole host of skin types and concerns. For make-up, one of the industry’s most trusted artists, Lisa Potter-Dixon shared her intel. H Tom Smith gave his next-level knowledge, while journalist and beauty insider Keeks Reid’s finger on the pulse means she’s constantly unearthing the next big thing. Together with the team, we judged 57 categories, honing in on all elements of beauty across skincare, haircare, make-up, as well as the sustainable products and minority-owned brands changing the game. And we took these awards seriously. There were spreadsheets, brainstorming days, late nights, early mornings, Venn diagrams, lots of agreements (and a few disagreements). The rigorous shortlisting and judging process saw over 500 products considered, marked and whittled down. Alongside that, we wanted to know your favourite products too, so we also opened up 10 awards to you, the reader, and over 5,000 of you took part in our online vote, narrowing down your beauty favourites to the 10 reader’s choice winners you see on this page for ’s Best Beauty Awards 2023. Now, we’re pleased to present the beauty world’s best in show.
