BEAUTY FROM THE PANTRY

Years ago I had a gorgeous neighbour, already nearly 70 years old, but you would never have guessed it and she would also never admit it. What she did reveal, however, is that her youthful appearance was thanks to the concoctions she mixed up in her kitchen. Her favourite was an egg white and lemon mask that she described as an instant ‘dewrinkler’.

You will be amazed when you start investigating the beauty benefits of everday pantry ingredients like apple cider vinegar, bicarbonate of soda, honey, oats, eggs, lemons and spices like turmeric. In fact, we already know a great deal about these things, because that is how our foremothers got by with what they had available.

In these days of tight financial times and sky-high cosmetics prices, it's a good idea to get creative and experiment with beauty products from the kitchen, for using top to toe. Some of these recipes are for external application, others you eat or drink. They all beautify!
